Canstream offers full technical support, from our UK-based staff, via telephone, email and remote access. We can assist you in all areas of your internet stream–from the initial setup of your streaming system, to ongoing help and support with all the services we provide.
As well as our own expert support, we offer our clients access to the CMA’s webcasting mailing list. It has been specifically set-up for users of the Canstream service and by subscribing to it you’ll be able to stay up to date with all our latest services and Canstream projects. You’ll also be able to easily share and receive tips and advice from other users.
We’ve also set up a knowledge base with answers to common questions about streaming services, software and equipment needed, and how to set up your encoder.
Here are a few handy links to commonly-used software for encoding and streaming, as well as some generally useful bits and pieces:
- Edcast: one of our recommended streaming encoder packages (free, Windows)
- BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool): another streaming encoder program (free, Windows/Mac/Linux)
- Darkice: a free streaming encoder for use on Linux servers. For technical users.
- Centova Cast manual: the user’s guide for our streaming control panel and statistics package (PDF)
